Art critics have commented both on my art in general and on individual pieces I have produced. What follows is a short list of extracts of the latter.
The sandglass of feelings in the art of Alessandra Nucci
The art of Alessandra Nucci has developed in various artistic periods. From “Verism” in which we notice a distinct drawing and clear colour tracts, to figurative symbolism, in which the images represented, apparently simple, express realities that are visible and hinted, felt and lived by the artist Distress, Hope, Solitude, Solidarity are some of the themes that emerge from the renowned works of Nucci, realized in oil and mixed techniques on canvas.
The artist was born and lives in Rome, has lived for long periods abroad, where she perfectioned her expressive tools. With soft colours and a vast range of tonalities, matches, and colour layers that define shapes, volumes, force rhythms, spaces and fields of light, the artist has produced charming sunrises and sunsets, marshes, lakes under moving skies and country landscapes from which great space and passionate lyrism emerge.
Another artistic period is characterized by intimistic painting that comes from the Ego and goes deeply in a way we call “ psycho logic impressionism”, in this elements of nature that are proposed have a double meaning both realistic and metaphoric that, in the globality of the painting, beyond the visual figuration, express feelings, moods, fragments of memories, stillness and moments full of hope, of religion, of poetry. In the “Sacred Subject art”, produced in decided impressionistic style, colour becomes light and arises to a transcendental value.
In recent paintings the artist, in a sign-gesture discussion and with the union of impressionism and psychic figuration, expresses the relationship between good and bad that every day we find inside and outside us in the eternal becoming of life.
Particular attention deserves to be given to the painting “The Sand-clock of Feelings”, symbol of the measure that is necessary to find our balance in existence.

A "gift" for the soul.
The paintings of A.Nucci are both delicate and passionate; a slight chromatic perception, evanescent and rarefied betrays a solid sensitivity. The brush caresses the profile of petals and highlights the stem of fragile flowers abandoned in time and atmosphere.
An ensemble of pure harmony, almost shy but nonetheless charged of deep sensuality.

The mystifying poetry of the author of “L’uomo corteccia”
When we think of the meaning of painted or sculpted art in our life ( and by “our” I mean not only that of cultured people, but also that of common everyday men), I never forget how for many of us, art, paintings are oasis : worlds in which our everyday thoughts fly away towards a small-great theatre of the spiritual, of the imagination. Alessandra Nucci’s art is this, but paradoxically it also the exact opposite. Alessandra often sweetly attacks the canvas starting from an original idea that screams to be free and intelligently the Author does not block this with mediation but follows it with it’s original strength and purity, it would be useless to oppose an interior cascade. A cascade of yearning for artistic and existential purity; an always complete, honest, original, sincere research. The art of Alessandra Nucci poses everyone in a impossibility of mediation with the compromise of forms and life, following always, everywhere and until the end, in total coherence, the absolute reasons of the heart. “L’uomo corteccia”, intelligent representation in clay, is only further proof of this interpretation. The character, synthesis of human experience is physically mediated between the human and the natural faunistic world. Is it psycho-drama is it tragedy? The opposite. In it’s being an accusation it is source of great hope, of total dedication to the interior idea of the happiness we must always reach in harmony with the strength of nature, never against it. And the living strength of nature is used constantly and coherently by Alessandra, by fusing herself, her ideas, often by forming pictoric compositions of materic style, the abstracts of great dimensions (“ Mutazioni della Natura”) or the imposing clay works painted on relief , assembled in complex and fascinating compositions with great final effect (“Le ninfe”), or the dynamic use of primordial material and plaster like stones or sand (“Inverno”). In the paintings of Alessandra Nucci we also find themes of profoundly serious and unsettling actuality (“Il condono edilizio” work that shows a peculiar topic, where we observe an unexplainable and hypnotic gaze over a complex structure that the world builds implacably); or the great and at the same time sweet emotional drifts (explosion of images in “Fuochi d’artificio” that represents in strong hues fireworks exploding in the sea). And so on in the context of a production ever the more original, totally lived, loved and suffered. Alessandra can, for those who do not immediately understand her , appear difficult and complex, strike the imagination like a gust of wind in your face. But she is never obvious, never leaves in her work the melancholic perception of a déjà vu of something already seen and lived. She is a real artist, in love with what is born of her and greatly focused on it. Her clay work, paintings and “acqueforti”, her themes follow the ways of life and of nature and never detach from them, because they are daughters and as daughters loyally follow.

"Spring solstice", 13th Art Exhibition, under the patronage of the municipality of Rome, selected the piece "Mutations of nature" by Alessandra Nucci.
This multifaceted artist, in her personal research, has approached symbolism and discovered the use of assembled materials such as bark, sand, and stones. This makes her creature an element of nature not only in the title. The use of various elements of nature united on the surface find their origin in a conceptual interior sublimation. It is a symbiosis of refined poetry, materic techniques and soft settings that define dreamy but real atmospheres.
Dream and reality, symbols an archetypes, substance and spirit, these are the elements that give momentum to this piece. Mutations of nature is not only a work of art, it is a compendium, a textbook. It allows us to read our soul. These are the elements that are brought forth by the sensitivity of Alessandra Nucci, an artist at once fragile and strong, that transforms her art in pages of Life.
